Discipleship
About Discipleship
Jesus said in John 15:8, "Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples." A disciple is a follower of Christ who reproduces other followers of Christ. The goal of our Discipleship ministry is to reproduce reproducers! God loves you and has a plan for your life. We want to help you discover that plan as we accomplish the four goals of discipleship. We want you to be confident in your relationship with God, knowledge of the Scriptures, friendship with other believers, and in your place at Grace Baptist Church.
In this ministry, we connect you with a Discipler (your personal trainer) who will help you to be established in the four goals of discipleship.
Goals of Discipleship
Personal Relationship with God
Establish ways to stay faithful and consistent in your walk with God
Fellowship of Believers
Understand the encouragement of relationships with other like-minded Christians
Active Participation in the Local Church
Learn how to find your calling and place within our local church
Making Disciples
Become a Discipler yourself and impart to another believer what you have learned
How can I get Involved?
Our Discipleship ministry is always accepting new disciples. With dozens of trained Disciplers available, we are excited to share the knowledge of how to study God's Word. Curious about how to get started? Check out these steps on how to join the Discipleship ministry.
1. Fill out a discipleship card
Once you fill out a discipleship card, (located in the back of the auditorium chairs), you can place it in the offering plate.
2. Get matched with a trained Discipler
Once we have received your discipleship card, we will work to find you the perfect Discipler match. Couples will be matched with other Discipler couples, and singles will be matched with someone of the same gender.
3. Learn how to study the Bible
After receiving your Discipleship binder, you're ready to start lessons with your Discipler! You and your Discipler will meet as regularly as you can to work through the lessons together.
